Skin Care Esthetics Course #2 - 1,500 Hours The Esthetics program is a complete basic course in the scientific method of skin care. This course teaches the student to analyze and treat various skin problems through the use of massages, machines, and products. The student will be familiar with make-up techniques, hair removal techniques and the business practices of a skin care operation. The student will learn about aromatherapy, body wraps, body treatments and reflexology. The student will also learn microdermabrasion and cellulite treatments. CIDESCO: CIDESCO is the international organization for Estheticians who study skin care and make-up. Independence College of Cosmetology is the second CIDESCO school in the United States. We have met all the requirements of the International organization. This is a complete basic course in the scientific method of skin care. Full time consists of 1500 hours, full time, over a period of approximately ten and 1/2 months at 35 hours per week, five days per week, seven hours per day, 8:30 a. m. to 4:30 p. m., with a one hour lunch, Tuesday through Saturday. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES: At the completion of this course the student will be able to analyze and treat various skin problems through the use of massages, machines and products. The student will be familiar with make-up techniques, hair removal techniques, and the business practices of a skin care operation. The student will be knowledgeable in treatments for the full body. The knowledge and skills will prepare students for work in the esthetics field. |

ENROLLMENT AND ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS Esthetician Classes start on Tuesday of each seventh week and the entrance requirements are as follows: ·
Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate ·
Have attained the age of 17 before taking the State
Board Exam ·
Proof of age - Birth Certificate or Drivers License ·
Free of contagious disease / possesses good moral
character ·
Have a personal interview with a school official ·
Pass an entrance exam ·
$100.00 Registration/Enrollment Fee payable to Independence College of Cosmetology. This is for processing all paper work and is
non-refundable after three business
days. If the student decides to
re-enroll at a later date, another $100.00 Registration/Enrollment Fee will be
charged. ·
Four 2x2 pictures ·
$25.00 money order payable to State Board of Cosmetology for student license The
Missouri State Board requires two years of high school for the Esthetics
Course. The
Missouri State Board requires 750 hours for the Esthetics Course. |
